PROJECTS

Extensive Experience

Applied Building Information LLC (ABI) has built a large portfolio of project experience across several market sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, interiors, mixed-use, multi-family, and public/civic. Here are a some examples to give you an idea of what we’ve worked on.

While this list is extensive, it’s not comprehensive. Our clients are pretty creative and we’re always taking on new types of projects. Whether your project is large or small, in the Pacific Northwest or across the continent, we’re here to help.

Special Requirements?

It’s common for projects to have special requirements – from custom owner requirements to new sustainability requirements. Even if we haven’t seen it before, we’re happy to help you sort it out.

PROJECT EXAMPLES

Commercial & Retail

Our commercial projects are typically office buildings. They range in size from high-rises that occupy a full city block in downtown Seattle, to small 2-story office buildings out on the Olympic peninsula.

Our retail projects range from single stores to multi-project retail rollouts. For some rollouts, we’ve done just the template specifications and the client managed the individual implementations. For others, we’ve done both the templates and the implementations.

We have lots of experience incorporating and managing owner standards. We’ll get a big pile of stuff and then get it all in the right place and show where we have it incorporated.

Education

Our education projects range from K-12 to higher education. We’ve incorporated owner requirements and Division 1. Many school districts also have varying material requirements. Education projects present a unique challenge because there are so many different types of spaces in a single project and durability is always a very high priority.

A common delivery method for these types of projects is GC/CM (General Contractor/Construction Manager). In those cases, we can alter our processes and specifications to better accommodate that delivery method.

Healthcare

Our healthcare projects have ranged from small medical office buildings to large-scale hospitals. These projects are significantly more complex than other project types due to the high number of materials and spaces involved. In addition to owner requirements, typically healthcare institutions will have their own highly-specialized material requirements for each of the care settings in the project.

Here are some of the institutions we have experience working with:

  • EvergreenHealth
  • North Valley Hospital
  • Peace Health

Interiors

For interiors-only projects, we’ve done multiple corporate headquarters TIs (tenant improvements), county government TIs, bank TIs, and even car showrooms. Considering what a difference great interiors can make for occupants, it’s no wonder that interior projects can have the same amount of complexity and requirements as an entire building.

Mixed-Use & multi-family

Our mixed-use projects are some combination of retail, office, and/or multi-family. They range from small 20-unit residential mixed-use projects to full city block high-rises of office and residential. These projects are often highly complex – like multiple projects in one.

Public/CiviC

Museums, libraries, fire stations, and police stations make up most of our public/civic project experience. These projects often have owner standards and the delivery method is typically Design/Bid/Build. Each project type has specialty materials, such as hose drying racks for fire stations and firing-range equipment for police stations.

We have experience with individual projects or working on a cluster of projects at the same time. One benefit of doing them in a cluster is that we’re able to maintain consistency of materials across all of the projects.
